This web site was originally created by students for students to help locate and consolidate resources on the Internet that would assist them in their study of Information System Security. It is hoped that by putting all the top Internet resources in one convenient location all students will benefit from the wealth of knowledge that is available online to supplement their classroom and textbook learning. The site contains: search engines for the ICAT Vulnerability database, the CVE Vulnerability database, Alt News and message groups; news from; and hyperlinks to many sites divided into categories such as: vendor specific alerts and patches, top 10 attacking IPS and ports, Packet Storm Message Forums and SOTMESC message forums; Virus alerts from McAfee, Symantec, Bitdefender, Sophos, plus many others; online chat rooms; programs to test your modem speed; information on computer purchasing; and more.

MITRE is a not-for-profit national technology resource that provides systems engineering, research and development, and information technology support to the government. It operates federally funded research and development centers for the DOD, the FAA, and the IRS, with principal locations in Bedford, Massachusetts, and Northern Virginia. Site contains: information about the organization; job opportunities; a press center for news releases from MITRE; and publications by MITRE.

This is the SANS institute website. The SANS (SysAdmin, Audit, Network, Security) Institute was established in 1989 as a cooperative research and education organization. The SANS Institute enables more than 156,000 security professionals, auditors, system administrators, and network administrators to share the lessons they are learning and find solutions to the challenges they face. At the heart of SANS are the many security practitioners in government agencies, corporations, and universities around the world who invest hundreds of hours each year in research and teaching to help the entire information security community.

Many SANS resources, such as news digests, research summaries, security alerts and award-winning papers are free to all who ask. Income from printed publications funds university-based research programs. Income from SANS educational programs fund special research projects and SANS Training program.

The Security News Portal for Information System Security Professionals. The site contains: lists and links to virus alerts from Symantec, BitDefender, Computer Associates, Kaspersky, McAfee, Panda, Sophos, and Trend Micro; news from VirusNews, MoreoverNews, and The Institute for Security Technology Studies at Dartmouth College; vulnerability postings; bug reports; discussion groups; stock news; and more.

CanCERTTM is Canada's first national Computer Emergency Response Team. Operated 24/7 since 1998 by EWA-Canada Ltd., the mission of CanCERTTM is to be the trusted centre for the collection and dissemination of information related to networked computer threats, vulnerabilities, incidents and incident response for Canadian government, business and academic organizations. The site contains: information about Cancert; its capabilities; its credentials; and its client services.

HNS (Help Net Security) newsgroup and search engine.

Center for Internet Security home page. The Center for Internet Security (CIS) is a not-for-profit cooperative enterprise that helps organizations reduce the risk of business and e-commerce disruptions resulting from inadequate security configurations.

This site provides a wealth of information on educational topics and they provide resource access to topics such as: electronic law and privacy; virus protection, network security, intrusion detection; cryptography and on general assurance. There are also connecting web sites and reference to a multiplicity of publications on subjects such as: Centre for Education and Research in Information Assurance and Security (CERIAS) technical reports, news letters, articles, books, journals, glossaries etc.

This site provides a selection of policies on a variety of subjects areas such as: securing hardware peripherals other equipment; controlling access to information systems; processing information and documents; controlling cyber crime; complying with legal obligations, controlling e-commerce information systems etc.

Security and Privacy Research Centre home page. This page contains a great deal of information concerning ITS, much of which is directed towards CIOs in particular. The site contains articles about a wide variety of IT subjects, such as : analysts, e-business, government IT policy, security and privacy, outsourcing, and legal issues. The site also contains information for subscribing to their newsletter.,a,20003390120 is a newsgroup discussing IT and It security. The site contains a wide variety of information as well as resources such as: Gartner research, a feedback page, an industry calendar of events, and a job page.
